Tweet's 3rd Album

Release Date: April 8th, 2008

Label:
According to a September 9, 2006 Billboard article “Umbrella Imprint Gives Shelter to Veteran Acts,” Tweet, formerly with Gold Mine/Elektra, has been signed to Umbrella Recordings, founded by Jheryl Busby in partnership with songwriter producer Mike City. In the article Busby states; "I keep watching labels dropping [proven] acts…So I thought, let me give them a deal. My MO is chase the artists whose record labels have walked away, but their fan bases haven't." Umbrella incorporates several ideas; including “matching artists with corporate sponsors to develop co-branding campaigns, concert DVDs and exploring other nontraditional marketing avenues.” Tweet's new label should be a much better fit for her than Atlantic Records was. Other artists signed to Umbrella include legend Patti LaBelle, and well-known R&B chart climber, Carl Thomas.

Recording:
Tweet currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia and has been in the studio working on her third album this past year. A sneak peak video of Tweet's next album was posted on her MySpace. It featured Tweet singing and playing acoustic guitar during a recording session, as well as her daughter Tashawna, Larry Sims, Craig Brockman, Charlie and Brittney Bereal, and Nisan Stewart. You can view the video on the media page. The video played short clips of new songs in the background. Among them were:
» "Reasons"
» "Love"
» "Priceless"
» "Love Again"
These songs incorporate both acoustic guitar and piano, suggesting a mix of songs between the sound of both Southern Hummingbird and It's Me Again, which were mostly acoustic and piano-based, respectively. This is probably a very good direction since many fans felt It's Me Again did not have enough of the acoustic sound that fans fell in love with in Tweet's first album.
Tweet isn't sure what the album's title is yet, but she says that it seems all the songs are about love.

New MySpace:
Tweet's previous offical website with Atlantic, tweetmusic.com, was taken down in fall 2006. Now, Tweet has her own MySpace that features three previously unreleased tracks from It's Me Again recording sessions which may appear on the third album, and new videos of her performing in 2004, as well as the sneak peak video for her next album and pictures.
